“My artwork’s uniqueness lies in the medium that I carefully selected. I had travelled to many provinces in the South of Vietnam to collect different soil type with different shades and colors and then filtered the soil to turn it into my painting’s main medium. After my graduation from Art school, I was unable to make a living as an artist, so I decided to become a farmer. On my journey to reignite my passion for art, I found out that soil/clay/silt could be easily turned into some sort of paint that is more eco-friendly compared to oil paint. When I travel from place to place for soil collecting, I get closer to Mother Nature and understand our land even more; there’s a special connection that drives me to continue to explore the complexity of this earthed medium”
